The mobile phones mostly launched lauched these days are smartphones, now these smartphones are competing with each other in every feature, power, camera and every single feature. When 3D TVs were launched no one would have imagined that one day we would have 3D mobile phones also, now HTC have its 3D enabled phones and EVO 3D is one of them.
The EVO weighs 170gms which is quite heavy for mobile phones, the front portion is lot like the Incredible S with the same rubber coating around the edges and the back. The built quality is very high as the plastic used is of very fine quality, seems like it is built to last forever. The 4.3 inch screen with a resolution of 540X960 makes everything appear a bit sharper and brighter. The front camera is 1.3mp with proximity, ambient lighting, and GYRO sensors.
The phone is powered by QUALCOMM’s MSM8660 dual core processor running at 1.2GHz and runs the latest version of Android 2.3.4. running on the top is Sense 3.0 offering the same feature which are in HTC Sensation. The interface is swift and fluid that makes the navigation effortless. Sense 3.0 include some bundeleed pps like Adobe Reader, facebook, frienstream, HTC Hub, HTC likes, Polaris Office etc.
Now comes the 3D experience, the HTC uses the same 3D technique like LG, but the implementation of HTC is slightly better and that difference is apparent immediately. For starters the 3D effect is a lot more forgiving to your eyes while it still has narrow sweet spot, the effect just seems better. The crosstalk is not there and the 3D effect is sharp and clear by just using a pair of shutter glasses. All the 3D images and videos are grouped together in the gallery so its easier to find them. In case the 3D effect is not right, you can adjust it. Once you snap the picture there is an option of saving it in 2D also.
The EVO is quad band phone with full HSDPA and HSUPA 3G support like any other smart phone. Along Wi-Fi we also have USB 3.0, the stock browser is decent and it bundles some apps like facebook, Twitter, and Youtube. The EVO comes with a bunch of games like Teeter, NFS SHIFT, Spiderman, and all are in 3D.
The camera in EVO is a 5megapixel that can be used in 2D mode and in 3D it limits to 2megapixel which is quite low, the switching between the two modes is a lot quicker compared to LG Optimus. Customizations include scene mode, effects, white balance, geo tagging and self-timer.
The size of battery is quite good with 1730mAh, it gives 5hrs 40mins of continuous video playback and a total of 8hrs of battery life which include 2.5Hrs of video, 2Hrs of audio streaming through Wi-Fi and 1.5Hrs of talk time.
With the price tag of 36k the EVO comes out to be cheaper than the optimus 3D and comes with better performance. The EVO 3D is a beautifully crafted phones with better performance in 3D as compared to other phones in this category.
